Joystick or keyboard ?
I only play with keyboard (and mouse if it would be needed in any future).
I stopped using gamepads/joysticks a long time ago..
I do have a Gravis Pro gamepad that looks like a PSX1 controller.... but it's absolutely useless for R&D (it's good for a 2 player Liero game though).
I still have an Atari VCS joystick somewhere, not sure what type of plastic & rubber it uses, but its totally indestructable!
I think it will outlive me.

Although I prefer the keyboard most of the time, I sometimes like to use a joystick, because I played the old classics (BD and EM) with a joystick. But the main problem here is that PC joysticks are analog joysticks in most cases (never really tried joypads, which are digital), which are way too unprecise for BD style games. But if you can get a *good* digital PC joystick (like a classic CompetitionPro), it's very precise and a lot of fun (and you can sit back in your arm chair while playing ;-) ).

I prefer a keyboard. A joystick is much too irritating!

i got a ps2 style gamepad that can switch between analog and digital mode. i always use digital mode for RnD, havent tried the game in analog mode ever.Holger wrote:But the main problem here is that PC joysticks are analog joysticks in most cases (never really tried joypads, which are digital), which are way too unprecise for BD style games.
i used to hate gamepads, but now i find them more useful for certain types of games then keyboard (nfsu2 on keyboard? yuck... thps? same story). the only gametype that i wont ever use a gamepad is 3d shooters. its just really hard to aim with those things. i used to be one of those im-l33t-cause-i-play-with-keyboard kinda guys, but now i'm thinking of buying a console

i couldnt vote for the poll, being guest, but needless to say, i wouldve voted joystick here.
