Your artwork

Post by TheOnyxGuy »

_______ One thing I don't think I'd seen on this forum is an actual forum topic just about sharing some artwork.

_______ Whether it's a physical drawing done with pencils, crayons, paint brushes or whatever else you can think of as a drawing tool, or maybe a digital artwork done with, like, MS Paint, PaintDotNet, Photoshop, Paint Tool SAI or others. Whether it's done in some sort of traditional style of a certain country or just race in general, or maybe a cartoon characters you usually see as a very squishy and overly animated goofball, or maybe something in between. Whether it's done in sketch, line art or maybe it's just a pixelated retro thing that would look like it was made at the time when such pixels were the best that computers and consoles could output back then... Who knows...

_______ Just artwork in general that you made at some point for whatever purpose, maybe as a self expression, or maybe for some sort of project, or maybe there was no real reason except "just do it for the fun of it". Maybe you drew it 20 years ago, or maybe just today, again, no limits here, as long as there is something to share and as long as there is something to comment on.

_______ I don't want to immediately clutter the topic's head post right away, plus maybe it's preferable to shrink large arts down to, maybe, 960x960 at most so the post wouldn't get too heavy to load all that at once, so I'll post just a few of mine for now:

_______ Back in 2014-2015 I was drawing (of all things) characters from Sonic franchise with pencils a lot, most of these were either redraws of existing artworks, some were direct traces (just for practices, I swear), and some were more or less original where I tried to draw without just looking at someone else's art and trying to replicate it. Here's one of the best examples I think I drew back then. One problem I have with it is that back then I had a tendency to draw them with severely shrunk shoes, so they look a bit too unnaturally small, while usually Sonic and Co. have very large and prominent limbs which would give them a very "toon" like look.

_______ Despite saying "2019", this digital drawing was done in the fall of 2018 and indeed it was made as a celebration of 100th Anniversary of Felix the cat. Ironically, the pose I drew him in is actually a trace off of someone who sort of indirectly copied some of his visual qualities - Sonic the hedgehog (again), as he is posed on the box art of 2017 game "Sonic Mania".

_______ Basically my own character drawn in a sort of basic solid colored style with dynamic thick lines named "Onia" (hah, how self indulgent of me). While being quite an old drawing, I still find it one of my best drawings of that specific character of mine.

_______ Here's her again but now drawn closer to high depth 32-bit pixel arts that I was basically drawing (and sometimes updating) from time to time from 2021 to this day. While style for the most part is "kind of" persistent, I was experimenting with her look from time to time, mostly in the face.

_______ We are returning to Sonic franchise yet again, and yet again it's Amy Rose, the character you see in the first art... well, in her "modern" look, anyways. This little pixel art was drawn for her 30th Anniversary back in 2023. That's pretty much it.

_______ Intentionally "batsh*t insane" drawing of my Geometry Dash player skins (you can see them in the bottom left) combined into one jockey-like monstrosity. Technically it's a sort of redraw of my joke image edits that you can see at the bottom right, but that doesn't really matter much.

'Off Topic' seems sufficient :)

Not to be flip, but -- so far this is one (1) example of the post type you're referring to. If you post 50 of them (or your outburst provokes others to follow) -- then I'm sure Holger will see the need, and create a separate topic. And fortunately phpBB does support an admin moving posts from one topic to another. If it's just one-off posts every few years or months, they're perfectly 'off topic' and have a nice home already :)
