how to sharpen an image by less than one point

Hello,

I am busy with an Emerald Mine background (for the background of a classic Emerald Mine page for my site that will come), but the image is maybe not sharp enough. If I sharpen it in Microsoft Photo Editor by one point, it's too strong. Could anyone make this image better for me?
