[MM] Key locks aren't opening through DF grids

  1. Build such scenario and use specifically MM grid.

  2. Try playing it. As you will see, it will work as intended.

  3. Now replace MM grid with the DF grid and try it again.

As you will see, it doesn't work anymore.
Is that intentional? I'll assume it's just some of the few unintentional sort of "incompatibilities" that DF and MM have between each other.

It is indeed more or less intentional, at least in a sense that the DF style grids work differently than the MM style grids -- mainly in that they behave more as a "solid block" as the MM style grids, which can easily be seen when reflecting the beam that hits the side of two grids in 45° angle exactly between these two grids, which works for DF style grids, but not MM style grids, or when trying to direct the beam between two diagonally adjacent grids, which works for MM style grids (because they are not like "solid blocks", but not for DF style grids (because they touch each others at the corners, not leaving a small gap between them as the MM style grids do, even though the graphical representation suggests otherwise).

Therefore, mixing MM style game elements with DF style game elements will cause unexpected or even buggy behaviour in quite some cases, unfortunately. :(
