viewonline weirdness

I was looking at viewonline.php

It seems to update every second (just keep refreshing), my question is why are guests posting? And where are they posting to?

Guests aren't posting; they're just seeing a screen that says that you must log in or register in order to post.

In viewonline, that looks like they're posting.

Wow, why so many and so frequent? I mean it can't be the same few guests trying to post over and over can it?

If it isn't the same guests then that would mean 100's of unique ones every day?

It could be robots who don't know any better . . .

Plus, one robot could be shown as multiple guests.

I.e. Spammers.
That's my guess.
Luckily, the RnD forum does not allow guest posting and uses the KittenAuth verification for signup.
