Invisible pannel in level creator for Bouloulderdash

Post by dazel »

The level editor menu doesn’t display in Boulderdash levelset (GDash levels) (R&D 4.4.0.2 on Windows 11).

Windowed mode:

Full screen:

I tested on a second computer (also on Windows 11, fresh install of R&D 4.4.0.2) and... it works fine uh.

By the way, switching back to "old" graphic style didn't fix the issue on the first computer.

Wow, that's strange, and I have never seen this! :-o

R'n'D indeed increases the game's window width for the level screen for the GDash level set (as defined in the graphics configuration files for this level collection).

A few questions:

Am I right that the window size itself does not change at all on your first Windows 11 computer when going to or leaving the level editor while having a level set loaded from the GDash level collection?

Does the same problem also occur with the title screens of the GDash level sets? For example, when loading the original Boulder Dash level set, does the window use a smaller height when showing the title screen, or does the attempt to resize the window also shows wrong behavior on your first computer (and works correctly on your second computer)?

That's right.

No, the window is correctly resized on the title screen, showing smaller height.

I might have done stupid things with the level folders. I downloaded both modern and Gdash versions, and since both folders are named "Boulder_Dash", I renamed one "Boulder_Dash_Gdash". Later, I deleted both and reinstalled Gdash without renaming the folder. That didn't solve the issue.

Now I know!!
The level editor menu doesn’t display in Boulderdash levelset (GDash levels) (R&D 4.4.0.2 on Windows 11).
For using the latest GDash level collection, you also need the latest R'n'D version, which is 4.4.0.4!

That should fix the problem! :)

In general: When having trouble, please always check with the latest stable R'n'D version. :)
