I need in help with the sound for linux. When I start RnD and I go to the sound menu in options, all of the buttons just say N\A. Anybody know what is going on and how to fix it?
note: The sound sometimes works.
No sound in Linux

The reason may be that R'n'D is unable to open the audio device on Linux -- could you please start it on the command line with the "-v" option and post the warnings/errors you get?
I assume that other audio applications (like XMMS) work fine on your system, so there's no general sound problem there?

I FOUND THE PROBLEM!! It was the desktop I use! It grabs exclusive control of the sound, allowing only programs that use sound through KDE.(that's the desktop I use) However, if I turn this off, it works, without the -v command. This is how I turn the control off:
I go to the control center, then to "Sound & Multimedia," then "Sound System," and at the bottom, there is the auto-suspend section. In here, you check the box, and move the scroller all the way to the left, and hit apply.
Please post this after the "Note for Unix users" section. Hope it helps KDE users!
EDIT: I found you need it to be set at 5 sec. instead of 0 sec.
