I noticed that you were discussing my levels. I'm glad you showed interest in my work. Here’s a bit of history: I started creating levels around 1996 when my PC (486SX) wasn't capable of running new games. I decided to have some fun by making new levels for myself and imagining an adversary trying to finish them. While creating the chambers, I tested them countless times. These tests were breakthroughs in understanding the game mechanics. When I spotted my first "strange thing," I started thinking about what else could be squeezed out of the game.
Level 38 was finished around 2003, and I decided that was it. I didn't want to repeat my puzzles just for the sake of making another chamber. I uploaded all my levels to YouTube in 2008 but later re-uploaded them after spotting a few bypasses to my desired walkthroughs in three of them. In 2019, I had an enlightenment moment while lying in bed at night, a kind of divine touch, and an idea for a completely new puzzle appeared in my brain. After prolonged procrastination, I finished that level in 2022, but one year later, I changed it a bit and re-uploaded it.
I have an idea for the final level. It won't be spectacular (just one tricky puzzle), but it will be challenging. I will try to make it this August during my holiday.
My chambers vary in difficulty from very easy to impossible. Additionally, we can divide them into two groups: normal (no secret knowledge needed to finish) and those where guru-level lore is required to pass. All can be completed. In one go, I finished levels 1-35 (I finished 35 only once in my life); for levels 36-39, I only completed them in chunks with the use of the editor. But ALL can be won.
In the attachment is a file with my work. To play, you need to rename it with the .hl extension, replace the existing file in the game folder, and run it.
If you would like, I can upload three other level packs from other Heartlight maniacs.
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
