You could use the starry shield for the last 5 seconds of the original.
(it makes sense)

Oh, and I forgot about one thing, it's to make sure people don't die because they don't know when it will stop.

Alternatively, using it in the first 5 seconds designate more power.

I'm sorry, but I don't get this concept or idea. Does it have to do with improving the lifespan of the shield power?

I don't think so. I think monsterman means that during the last 5 or so seconds of the shield (i.e. when it is about to disappear), change the shield to let the player know it's time to find safe ground.
