Wrap-around scrolling isn't hard to make, but it is kind of tricky to make with minimum CEs and be practical to (and fast). This example only uses 8 CEs and doesn't get in the way (its just a border). The map can be any size you like.
Level 1 is just a basic screen, level 2 includes free space checking (only wrap if its clear on the opposite side) and level 3 is an infinite sized map!

Of course, it works best with "delayed scrolling" set to "off" in the "setup / graphics" menu.
It's even possible to create endless mazes where you cannot notice the "wrap-around" at all! (Alan's example still has that one auto-moving line in level 003 where you notice that something unusual is happening... ;-) )
