Yes, more or less -- although we did not visit the original set location with Bilbo's home, we weren't far away from it (and in fact half of the north island looks like the Shire anyway ;-) ). And we definitely didn't get bored there -- the landscapes are incredibly impressive, and we have seen a lot of different amazing locations and have done many exciting things, like kayaking on the ocean, exploring caves, walking over volcanic craters, climbing onto glaciers and even doing skydiving. It really is a great country that I will never forget!
And yes we have seen one or two sheep, too. ;-)

> Volcanos AND glaciers?
Yes, both. :-)
> Cant say ive ever heared of the two being close to each other before.
That's indeed the great thing about New Zealand! You can also climb a glacier and later relax at the beach, on the same day!
BTW: The volcanoes are on the north island, and the glaciers on the south island. We did the "Tongariro Crossing", a 17km day walk over a field of three (partly active) volcanoes in the Tongariro National Park. The glacier I mentioned was the Fox glacier.

> Wow, NZ? Show us the photos!!!!1111oneone
I've just copied them from the image tank -- 3451 photos, which still have to be rotated and sorted. (I think I should have bought a new camera which does rotating by itself -- my old Canon IXUS V does not do it... :-/ )
When I ever manage to get the best of them online, I might post a link here... :-)
