Hi!
This subject I included in my latest posts.
I have a idea:
In level editor info announcement: level colors (like in "Digging Jim" editor).
3 color parameters:
- Hue,
- Saturation,
- Light.

Please Holger! Include colors in new version of RnD?

Regards.

Something like this may be available when the native BD engine arrives in R'n'D, as it had some similar coloring scheme for its levels. (The native BD engine will probably added in 3.3.0 or, more possible, in 3.4.0, as there is apparently more interest in a native Supaplex engine than in a native BD engine, so the SP engine might come first in 3.3.0.)

If you are going to do it, then at least do it with RGB please - HSL is too hard for most people I think. Maybe you could at RGB, HSL and CMYK if you could! 8)

I think that it would be a really cool idea.

I don't care about the method, but I agree with Rockford4ever: RGB is the easier and most intuitive one - i.m.o.

If I could add a *feature* to that idea, what about alpha-blending (a.k.a. transparency or opacity):?:

It would be *really* cool - but damn hard to implement, I guess :(

Yep, right -- that's what I'll use when I should ever add this.

About alpha-blending: This would be a totally new concept to the R'n'D graphic system, but maybe it will be added some day. (It would be needed when replacing the black background with graphical background, moving players, enemies and objects in front of that background.)

Holger: EVEN BETTER will be, to set the colors for every object other. It would make recolors easier... and will shrink PCX graphic file size... BlueSky ones, for example

And if alpha blending will be available, may I remind about level backgrounds? :)
I think that level backgrounds are really very useful for game graphics, most games that have level backgrounds are much better than games without level backgrounds IMO. (Note: RnD is the best of course, but it would be even better...)
Well, consider it, and tell me why it's not possible

It *IS* perfectly possible, and it would be very nice to have! :-)

But -- due to lack of free time -- don't expect it already in this decade... ;-)
