Actually, I do. Then again, I'm not much of a music person at all.

Honestly, not I. I always get annoyed by the high volume so I turn it off. And it's rarely I play with normal sounds either, most often I have winamp runnin' ;)

I have all sounds turned off, and I don't think they were ever on ;-)
Sometimes I listen to some mp3's & ogg's when playing.

Yes, I turn mostly the musics off and also the nasty spaceship and bug loop sounds too.
Maybe their volume could be halfed ? (I mean 1/2)

Well this is handy to know, because making music can take a a long time..

A shame some of you switch soundloops off (that's the yamyam's fault IMO), as you might of missed some things, like the boss tunes...

Well, in BD2K3 I had all sounds and musics on. The music was perfect, and the sounds too. But now if I play BD2K3, I turn the music off, since the music was only played on the left side ! (Bad soundcard)

Yes, it did that for me in Win98 with SBLive, but is OK for XP.

I think Mod music is the way to go now! A nice cross between MP3 and Midi (in a way). It will sound the same for everybody, but will still be a small file.

I used to use Screamtracker a long time ago (Win3.1 days) for making mod music, but it doesn't work in XP..

You mean tracker modules? Like 4-channel Protracker module?

Yes, but I think ST was 16 channels.

Not sure about nowerdays, anyone know a good win32 sequencer?

ST was 4ch as well. And I don't know any win32 module creators (are there any?).

Google for "tracker" or "soundtracker" and "windows" -- that should give you a whole bunch of software to create "tracker" or "MOD" style music files (never tried that on Windows, though.)

I only know the Mother Of All Trackers, the Amiga "SoundTracker" by Karsten Obarski in 1987.

Maybe also have a look at http://www.soundtracker.org, excerpt from that page:

Oh yes, the golden days of homecomputing... :-)

Me also knows only the modules created in Amiga trackers, thus 4ch limit ;-)
(there were more channels e.g. in DigiBooster, but either by emulation or on soundcards).
