it is a little uncanny that right now, custom menu text is the only per-levelset custom asset the user cannot override

Isn't that part of graphics overrides though? I haven't tried these new things just yet so I'm not aware yet

nope! hence the screenshot where the default RnD graphics are used (graphics override) for a Krissz_Boulder_Dash levelset; the graphics of the levelset have been overridden but the custom menu text cannot be

You are right, menu texts should override as well! I will have a look why this doesn't work as intended...

Interesting... That also reminds me that "program_title" and "program_copyright" also don't override despite being written in the graphicsinfo.conf, although pretty sure that's very much intentional in that case. Not sure about the menu texts one though

It's fixed in version 4.4.1.2 now!

Not sure about these ones... I fixed something more about text definitions defined in "levelinfo.conf" and "graphicsinfo.conf" files, but it's also a bit debatable which definitions should have priority over which (as defined at other places)...

But I have just added the following lines to file "graphics/graphicsinfo.conf" inside a custom / private level set, and it works just as expected (that is, changing the corresponding texts in the main menu for this specific level set):

Code: Select all

program_title: Holger's Game
program_copyright: (c) 2026
So if it did not work before, it should work now. :)
