Re-arranging / sorting of levels

Post by Flumminator »

Hi all!

over the last 10 or more years, I've created a "few" levels I would soon like to share here in the forum. However, before I want to release them "into wilderness", I'd like to re-arrrange all the levels in the levelset, e.g. sort them for difficulty and so on. Since - to my knowledge - R'n'D doest have an inbuilt feature to do this, I'd like to ask you if there are any best practices on doing this.

Otherwise, my plan looks like this:
  • Fire up my favourite Spreadsheet Application
  • Enter a short description for each level
  • Add column for "target level number" and fill this to create the order I want
  • Export "old level number" and "target level number" as CSV
  • Write a small script that takes the CSV as input and re-names all the level, tape and high-score files.
Any other ideas?
