Maybe, some editor sprite replacement/reinforcement?

Post by Eizzoux »

Since we can pretty much zoom the editor playfield twice as big as usual, some editor sprites now look kind of out of place, because they're more pixelated than others. Mainly, the BD rock and wall, expanding walls, quicksand with rocks, border steel walls and directional yams. Perhaps, they might need a slight re-interpretation for 32 tile style?

  • Also funny fact, Electron's sparkles are going slightly off the tile size in some frames and peeking into the previous frame

Hi Eizzoux, yes, you are right that these tiles should be brushed up a little bit to match the other 32x32 sized tiles.

What's important here is that these tiles have to look differently in the editor than in the game, to be able to differentiate them from other tiles that look the same in the game (like the quicksand with and without a rock, which should look the same in the game, but should not look the same in the editor; also note the eyes of the yamyams with different start directions ;-) ).

I think I should spend an evening and improve them a little bit using GrafX2 to match the other tiles in the editor. :-)

OK, those graphics where it makes sense are improved now (a few hours too late for the just released version 4.3.3.0, but it will be there in the next version).

The following graphics were not changed:

- border walls that are not part of the playfield are displayed as a border that can be visually distinguished from border elements

- custom, group and empty elements have a different (low resolution) variant to be readable also in 16x16 size

The electron's sparkles are also fixed now. :-)
