Well, there's default yellow and green sand, so you're covered there.
You'll have to use custom graphics for the other colors, preferably over custom element slots and then setting the custom elements as diggable.
I attached a possible graphics folder to show how it could work with custom elements:
graphics.zip
(16.41 KiB) Downloaded 155 times
I'm assuming you're new at graphic replacement, so what you'll want to do after you download it is unzip the folder and place it in the folder of your levelset.
Capture.PNG
Capture.PNG (5.91 KiB) Viewed 3654 times
After that, go to the level editor, go to the custom elements that the graphics override, and just simply check their state as "diggable".
Like this, you can have as many sand colors as you want :D

Thanks, SH2K, for the great description! :-D

As a side note, if you define all desired custom elements once (like sand in different colors, or differently colored rocks etc.), you can simply use a level template to store all your custom elements and use them in every level of your level set!

That way, you don't have do edit custom elements for every level, and all custom elements stay the same for all levels!
