Re: Post your cool and useful links
I trust your judgement, Alan. I think you know which sites are good and which sites are bad. And if anyone has an opinion about if a site should be removed from your list, then they could just say so and I might consider if it should be removed or not. But until later I have only two things to say:Alan wrote:Apologies to Zomis......I've posted a lot of links which you'll have to check out since you're the mod. Sorry! (they're all safe anyway)
1. Nice list
2. You've missed the most important one:
http://www.pointlesssites.com
That site has got everything from 1D-tetris to a "programming language inventor or serial killer" quiz (I've scored 5/10)
Ahh yes. Pointless sites.......how could I forget that one!
Speed Demo Archive, people recording themselfs finishing games very fast. If you have the time check out the Resident Evil 4 speed run, amazing!
http://speeddemosarchive.com/
Here's somebody finishing Doom in about 20 minutes!
http://www.archive.org/details/Doom_UVlevels
Note: the videos play sequentially but most have 2 copies (hi and low res)....just use the skip button to jump past the low res one. (the playlist only shows 5 videos, but they're all there)
Seriously....Baulder's Gate finished in 30 minutes!? And even more strange, Morrowind finished in 7 minutes! (it took me months!)

The speed demos would be very fun to see, too bad I have a poor dialup...
In any case, I'll add www.jimloy.com - because of the nice curiosities about maths - and not only...
I'll add also http://mathworld.wolfram.com - because of the incredible amount of information, again about maths.
Given that I am getting mad and fuzzy about all this stuff, I'll add also www.parashift.com/c++-faq-lite
...and pass the turn 'till I'll be able to go out for a drink again...

Here's a good way to search for music using Google:-
intitle:"index.of" (mp3|mp4|avi) another.brick.in.the.wall -html -htm -php -asp -cf -jsp
This looks through directories (a page without an index)
Replace another.brick.in.the.wall with the song name you're looking for. Use fullstops instead of spaces in the song title for a wider search.
