Are these public domain images or did the author create them? Is the author a member of this message board?

Welcome to the forum, GavinD!
(I guess you are Gavin Davidson, the RnD Levels contributor - very welcome!)

The author is Doctor Sloan, and yes, he is a member at the forum

I think he created the artwork himself, but I'm not quite sure.
