Would you like some new classic elements in R'n'D?

I think the elements becomes a little bit boring with the time,
some new would be a little alternation, wouldn't them?

What do youh think?

I believe you mean "What do you think?".

Even though new standard elements would be nice, I don't think it should be given much priority right now since there's so many other things to work with, like native BD and SP engines, and better multiplayer support, etc.

That's actually my first thought. What do you mean by 'new classic elements'? If you mean replacing the standard grahics with some new set, then definitely no.

I agree, it's a complicated question, but you
might understand what I mean, don't you?

And I would like to have some features you needn't create
by custom elements. For example the
teleporters would be a nice feature, don't they?

And I wrote: "What do you mean?" to get know what's
your opinion of my suggestion.

And it's a simple question:
"Dear R'n'D users, would you like to have some new classic elements?"

"Do you want do delete all the old elements for new?"

I think that more basic elements would only bloat the game engine. If something like this is really considered useful, I suggest instead adding a facility to load CEs from pluggable "CE sheets" which themself contain the definitions. This uses no game engine code (only code in the editor), and solves the problem (you don't have to make CEs).

Note: by "basic elements" I mean elements that aren't CEs.

Second this.

It's very boring to define same CE parameters again and again. It would be so great if I could just select an CE-definition file and import/export it to other levels / levelsets without manual work.

Have you tried using "level templates"? That way you can define all CEs in one level file and use it as a template for all other levels of a level set.

Using cut/copy/paste with custom elements also saves some time when creating many similar CEs.

Another good thing about CE sheets is that it would make it easy to share CEs that work together with other people to use in their levels. :)

Oh, so it seems I got a neighbor here :D Welcome to the forum!

I also like the CE sheets idea, sounds exactly like the "Export / Import CEs" function in RNDTool 1.4. Unfortunately, I think that function was a bit buggy and it's outdated now anyways.. and it didn't have a nice user interface either :oops:
