CE-Action: Make player....

Post by Sascha »

Really nice levels could be created if there would
be some new CE-Actions which make the player...
...dropping
...pushing
...snapping
...jumping (over more than 1 square)

An element which makes the player invisible I have
already created.

Those sound like good ideas, except I'm not sure that I agree with jumping, since that's not already a Rocks'n'Diamonds action.

I already have seen this idea in many different places.
The first place that I saw it was in Colour cycling, which is now a year old.
The H. World levelset can be downloaded from http://www.bd-fans.com/RnD.html -- search The H. World on that page.

I'm not sure if I like these ideas much... even though there's already "move player" action, adding these would logically be the next step. But I'm still not sure how useful they would be.

And as for jumping, it is possible to emulate jumping in RnD. Just look at this level: http://www.zomis.net/rnd/download.php?id=640

With the ability to force a player to drop something, you could teleport a player to a location and easily be able to teleport back to exactly where the player was before because the dropped element would be there. :)

Whith the action "dropping" you could create some nice levels with
dynamite: The player is running about while he's dropping bombs every
...third second. Or every second. Meanwhile he's got to push rocks, collect
gems and so on.
The action "pushing" you could create a level which lots of rocks and diamonds; If Rockford pushes any rock and this falls onto a diamond - the end!
For myself, I've got lots of ideas.

thanks,
