A puzzling emerald party

Post by Francesco »

I've made an emerald party level, inspired by Asiekierka's Emerald Easy Factory.

The exit is surrounded by "wall with emerald" CEs, which will turn into sand when touching emeralds

The second and last CE of this level is a crystal which will smash diamonds.

You won't solve it at the first try.

A "bravo!" for the first who will upload the solution tape :)

Anyway, by the way, have fun!

Just solved it, nice level :D
I don't see how this looks like Asiekierka's easy Emerald factory...

Bravo Rockford4ever!

Sincerely, did you solve it at the first try?

Is there any other level which needs the same trick of moving gems?

Btw, I've said that it was inspired by Asiekierka's level, not that it looked like his level...
Anyway, by the way, have fun!

No, I did it after... 2 try's. I did it on third.

None that I know of, but it could be. Search in the Puzzle levels, maybe.

Oops! Seems like those things kinda have a diffrent meaning!;)
But it also does'nt look inspired by a emerald factory... :?

I'll explain this further:
I've took the idea not from the level itself, but from the time I spent playing on it.
You could see it from the tape I've posted on the FA.
I suppose that you haven't see it, so now the question is: where did you took the idea for solving my level? Did you notice that gems' behaviour just playing normal levels?

To be sincere I'd never thought that a "mountain" of gems could be moved in that way, and I've realized it only playing on Asiekierka's level.

Maybe you did not know it, and you just got it with tryouts... in this case you deserve another "Bravo!"

:)

By the way, if you add a speed pill to the level and you take it before taking the gems, you'll see that you won't be able to finish the level.
Moving the gems works only at normal speed.
Anyway, by the way, have fun!

I know why: when an emerald falls, it has normal speed. You have fast speed so all the emeralds fall faster, so they don't have time for slipping off each other. And in case you did'nt know, you are "moving" the emeralds by making them slip.

And, yes, I figured out by trying. I was collecting a the gems (big mistake!) and i walked the bottom row and i noticed all the gems moved, so I tried again (this time recording a tape) and I did it. 3130 score, BTW .;)

CE documentation

Post by HerzAusGold »

Hi Francesco,
A little bit off topic here..
I see you learn and understand the CE technique very quick.
Write down your steps and make a documentation for beginners (like me).
With all traps you step into or suggestions you made.
With some little examples and explaination of this.
Like a step by step documenation.
Just a thought.

Btw: Have you played my sokoban mode...
And the answer is ... 42 !

Eheheh, what a request...
I'm glad to read such lines... and I think that I'll do something like this if I will be able to hold the temptation to work on new things... last days I was thinking that I'd like to create some levels with the CEs I've already made, we'll see :)

About sokomode... you won't believe it (well, not much more than I did) but the little gamer learnt to do single-step taps... really!

One day I went home and he was fighting with Lucy on the level with the smilies... I've made the levels over the normal SB levels, and I've forgot to delete the originals which weren't edited! Can you believe a 3yo playing *standard* SB levels? Well, actually he can't, but he tries
Anyway, by the way, have fun!
