Seems that computer games creators were right all the time!
Thanks to google's satelite imagery we can now see that with our very eyes...

Hey this is cool......

The reason you can't zoom right into the surface (especially on area A), is because you wouldn't see the American flag shadow........and NASA wouldn't want that now eh?

Yeah! That's funny, I discovered exactly the same this morning when using Google the first time. :-)

Can't confirm that -- when I was there last Saturday, the flag was still there. =:-)
