Check my tape:
http://rnd.roger4.net/tapes/classic_sokoban/006.tape
If you want just a few first steps, just pause it at some point ;-)
BTW, all classic Sokoban levels are possible, I've passed them all many years ago (not in RnD, so I don't have the tapes - it's a bit uncomfortable w/o UNDO).

but I see UNDO as a kind of cheating the game. But I think it would be a nice feature (ONLY in the sokoban levels) because there's also a saving function which is also cheating, in fact.

Original Sokoban has the UNDO function (I think) and it's not about cheating - it's about not having to restart the whole thing if you release the arrow key too late (there's only one undo level, you can't just go back to the half of the level). In fact, tapes with Sokoban are more like cheating, because you can save at any point :P

The original Sokoban had a 1-step undo function (by pressing 'u'), which was imho quite nice to the player for correcting simple, obvious mistakes (as pushing a box accidentially at a wall).

That's the lacking feature to make R'n'D 100% Sokoban-compatible

The undo-key should only be active in Sokoban-only-levels, and will - of course - be recorded on the tape. Is this possible for 3.5.0, Holger?

Huh? Why version 3.5.0 in particular? Why not 3.4.0? Or 3.6.0? Or 3.3.0?

Martijn: how about 4.0.0 or 6.6.6? All he meant was that it's not very urgent but a good idea to put in on the TODO list.

I was referring to the 99,9% compatibility for EM, BD and Supaplex roadmap which goes until 3.4.0

But of course with the compatibility for sokoban added 3.5.0 might be worth a discussion about calling it 4.0.0

Yeah, so we have to update the roadmap:
- 3.2.0: new EM engine (work in progress, release date coming nearer)
- 3.3.0: new BD or SP engine
- 3.4.0: new SP or BD engine
- 3.5.0: new SB engine (well, not new, but improved with "undo" for at least one step)

But first I'll focus on 3.2.0 now... :-)

First time I read that line, I thought it said "release date coming never" ;)

Hello,

I'm curious is this is still the current roadmap for SB.

I would be glad to see there one step undo feature.

Also, is there any chance to count steps in scoring instead of use time (ie the less steps the better score). I think that's more in the spirit of the sokoban, especially that I can pause with space what makes any time score pointless.
