[Fixed] read only levels

Post by orava »

hi,
I asked on old forum how to make read only levels editable.
i was advised to add 'read_only:false' to the lvlinfo.cnf file.
After insertion levels were still readonly :(. After insertion file looked like this, did i insert that 'read_only:false' to wrong location or something:

file_identifier: ROCKSNDIAMONDS_LEVELINFO_FILE_VERSION_1.2

name: Boulderdash
author: Several Authors
imported_from: Several Boulderdash Clones

sort_priority: 400
latest_engine: true
level_group: true
read_only: false

A fresh forum gives us a fresh look... thanks for typing it up, I can clearly see your problem now. The option should be "readonly", not "read_only".

This should go to the Help-Forum, not General Discussion.

Some topics require some moving around already, we sure miss a decent moderator...

@richard: If you ever want to qualify for becoming a moderator, these envious comments are clearly the wrong way...

Of course Holger could handle all this, but wouldn't it be nicer if he concentrated on imroving RnD? So, having someone who would eagerly do it for him would be even nicer. I don't care who it is as long as they do their job properly. And as long they're mature enough.

Thanks Yoshi348, but it did not help to spell it as readonly:false either. :(

Try...

readonly: false

(with tab-space)

Solved (I think)

Hi orava, I think I got it now.

Having carefully looked at your conf file, and compared it to my own....... I realised you are using the wrong one!!

In the Classic games folder, there are 5 folders and one "levelinfo.conf"
this is NOT the one you edit!
Look in the folder of the game you want to edit, say "classic_supaplex" and in there you should see another "levelinfo.conf" amongst the .level files, this is the one you want to edit!

Let's hope that's it!

Yeah ! You have to edit the levelinfo.conf, where all the "level" files are ! :)

About levelinfo.conf settings, I plan to introduce a somewhat GUI settings for such config into a future RNDTool version (whenever that will come, erhm...)

Otherwise, Flummi, Alan & c.o. are right, as usual ;)

Now I'm a moderator, so this has both been moved and marked as [Fixed]
