Hello. I went to download the DX-boulderdash levels, but
R&D would not recognize them. It has a bad format extension.
Instead of *.level it is *.lvl. I tried renaming them to level extension,
but that does not work either. I thought the levels and artworks
page said they were converted... assuming that I would be able
to play these levels with R&D. So, how can I achieve this?

They are!

By not using the level archive file for the DOS version! ;-)

Download the version for Windows/Unix/Mac instead...

Ack! I also had this problem....so I have the wrong ones to!

So are LVL & CNF files not supported then? (this would be very handy for me)

I can remember I changed old selfmade levels with the .lvl format to .level and it worked perfectly!

These file extensions are only used in the DOS version and are not supported by the versions for the other platforms.

(Probably I'll completely drop the R'n'D DOS support in the not-so-far future; practically nobody uses DOS anymore these days, and you can't run the "interesting" level sets like BD2K3 with the DOS version anyway, because DOS doesn't support filenames longer than 8 characters with an extension of no more than 3 characters, which is really unacceptable today.)
