Well, the best idea to avoid too much work is just asking the forum memberss who has tapes on his PC for the following levels:

LEVELDIR 'doctor_sloan_ese', SOLVED 26/32 (81%), FAILED: 005 009 018 022 023 025
Done (Jannik): LEVELDIR 'rnd_conor_mancone', SOLVED 13/15 (86%), FAILED: 014 015
Done (Martijn): LEVELDIR 'rnd_gavin_davidson', SOLVED 51/56 (91%), FAILED: 033 042 049 052 054
Done (Martijn): LEVELDIR 'rnd_randy_johannessen', SOLVED 15/16 (93%), FAILED: 014
Done (Martijn): LEVELDIR 'rnd_sam_bateman', SOLVED 34/35 (97%), FAILED: 029
Done (Jannik): LEVELDIR 'rnd_falk_sobe', SOLVED 34/47 (72%), FAILED: 001 004 015 017 019 021 024 027 039 042 048 050 051

Just solved:
Contributions 2002:
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_conor_mancone', SOLVED: 014 015

Contributions 2004:
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_falk_sobe':
- SOLVED : 001 004 006 015 017 019 020 021 024 027 030 039 042 043 048 050 051
- ADDED MISSING TAPES: 006 030 043
- CHANGED: 017 (made CE 2 pushable)
- CHANGED: 020 (replaced burning dynamite in extended change target of CE 1 with steel wall)

Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_martijn_mooij', SOLVED: 002
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_norbert_de_jonge', SOLVED: 001
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_rado_negundo_v', SOLVED: 029
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_remco_mooij', SOLVED: 002 004 008 016 017

Contributions 2005:
Done: LEVELDIR 'rnd_bill_cotter':
- SOLVED: 001 007 012 013 016 024
- CHANGED: 024 (time limit 100 sec -> unlimited -> old tape (1:07:53 ^^) works)

imho impossible to solve:
Contributions 2003:
LEVELDIR 'rnd_randy_johannessen', SOLVED 15/16 (93%), FAILED: 014 (penguins can not walk through the red door)
LEVELDIR 'rnd_sam_bateman', SOLVED 34/35 (97%), FAILED: 029 (amoeba grows to the sides)

Contributions 2004:
LEVELDIR 'rnd_falk_sobe', SOLVED 34/47 (72%), FAILED: 017

I'll do some more and mail them all together to Martijn, ok?

Okay, thanks Jannik! But will you also give me the tapes then? As they are broken and should be fixed, too.

Today, I will do rnd_gavin_davidson and rnd_philip_winter. So will you do others then, otherwise we will do double work!

About Remco Mooij's level 002: it's very tricky, but possible! You need to entice the scissors behind you, so that you can still enter the exit with gravity on!

As soon as I solve another level, I'll update the post above, so that you can always see, which levels are done by me.

And sure, I will mail them to you.

(I just tried it a thousand times, I can jump on one scissor but that's not enough to reach the exit. I give it up. Maybe someone else can do it, I'm very curious about the tape, then ...)

Edit:
YEEEES! I got it! 8)
Don't ask me how, it suddenly worked! Very, very tricky timing ...

Where can I find the 'doctor_sloan_ese' levels?

how can you write underlined words??

Code: Select all

[u]words[/u]

Okay, good! I will write 'Done:' in front of the levelset that has been fixed. And I will write a line below so that you can see which levelset I am already busy with.

doctor_sloan_ese must be the wrong directory name (I don't know what Holger did with it, but this is no official name). It has to be the Earth Shaker Explosions set by Jamie Cullen.

Will you also write down when you've completed a whole entry? Then I can write 'Done:' for it for the overview.

If there are others interested in helping, then write it below! I especially need some help for the Bill Cotter levels, as they make me so nervous! I want to do the work as fast as possible, but those levels require a relaxed and long playing! And the loading takes so long...

oh Jannik, one thing: if you really can't finish a level, you are free to change it! just set 'readonly: false' in the levelinfo.conf of the levelset (TEMPORARILY, for yourself!) and change the level a bit. Try not to change it too much, but it's the creators' own fault. As they didn't provide solvable levels...

Sascha, you can find answers to questions like that and look in BBCode help. You can get to it from the posting screen by clicking on the word "BBCode" under Options on the left.

Also, you can view the BBCode of anybody else's post by clicking on the Image button.

Who decides which levelsets are put into the contributions packs and who decided to put Bill Cotters levelset in? :?

They are very, very buggy ... and the worst: they are all very similar: exit behind four doors, the four keys spread in huge areas of dead amoeba and many, many bugs ...
At the end of level 016 it took over 5 minutes to load (warp forward, F2) my own tape ...
Here are the times of my tapes:
001: 28:41
007: 37:34
012: 26:43
013: 35:42
016: 68:00

And in level 024 there is a ridiculous time limit of 100 seconds, but I think that was already discussed here: Time limit setting

I suggest to accept only levelsets, where the designers provide their own working tapes!

Your right, Jannik.

I was creating my hard levels (some of them are a remake) and made tapes
for it, and yep; I bet those levels are the worst that I played. :D

BTW: Did you check my brother's level?

I think at least a second person should have a look at it, maybe I miss a trick or am just too unpatient like in Remco Mooijs level 002 ...

Until now I only changed Bill Cotters level 024, because the time limit was obviously not intended ...

In the levelset 'rnd_falk_sobe' there are some tapes completely missing (020.tape, 043.tape, ...), but not listed as failed, is that correct?

I'm pretty sure that Holger just puts all levels that are e-mailed to him in "Contributions", with some special exceptions like BD2K3.

Holger only includes levelsets in the Contributions if people request it (by sending their levels to him or by giving a link on the forum with the question if it could be added to the Contributions package (like the set Banana's Journey)). Except if the levelsets are too big (like BD2K3 (4.6 MB) or BD Dream (10.9 MB) or other sets.

All the other sets aren't included in the Contributions package. But I always make playable levelsets of them and see them as Additional Player Levels (or sometimes Multiplayer Levels or Additional Classic Level or so) and upload them to my site.

So whether you send your levels to Holger or upload it on Zomis' Archive (or sometimes people use another place to upload their files. I always wonder why they don't use Zomis' excellent archive), it will always be available to download for everyone.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the File Archive isn't advertised within the game itself the way Holger's e-mail address is. :(

I think of Alan Bond for example... :D

Hmm, that's a good question. Jannik is another example.

Even Holger used the File Archive once...
