Template deletes itself

if you have a template, then on a new level you set it to use template, but then you select save as template, it overwrites your template with whatever elements were on that level (which is nothing) so you end up loosing all your CE's

i did this by accident and it wasnt nice

so all i can suggest is that if you do happen to click it, and the level is using the template, it should give some kind of warning

*note* when you modify a group CE, it doesnt ask if you want to copy and modify template!

You should always make a backup of it...
You'll end up losing all your hard work so save it as a level first

yes i did save it, thats what caused it to delete itself

it doesnt bother to ask to backup the template when you edit a group CE, so if you edit a group CE then save, it deletes your template
luckly since id ran into this problem before, id backed the template up this time

I haven't tested it yet (because I believe that your observations are true), but this is a really bad bug then, which can indeed cause a lot of frustration because of lost creative work. :-(

Thank you for reporting it -- I'll see to fix this soon (or at least find a workaround like making automatic backup template files)...
