undoodily doodily

Post by filbo »

Hi,

I often find myself reaching for wrong shortcuts in the editor (from a couple of different environments):
  • Ctrl-Z for Undo
  • Ctrl-Shift-Z for Redo
  • Ctrl-R for Redo
None of these seem like they would conflict with existing shortcuts*, so I wonder if they could be added as aliases to 'u' / 'U' ?

(* Ctrl-R does currently invoke 'Draw Outline Rectangles', but so does 'r', so it doesn't seem like an important shortcut)

Using "Ctrl-Z" for "undo" in the level editor sounds reasonable. Also "Ctrl-Shift-Z" for "redo" sounds logical and familiar to me.

Regarding "Ctrl-R" for "redo", I'm not totally convinced, as this seems to be handled differently by various programs. (In web browsers, it is "reload", while "redo" in MS Word is invoked by "Ctrl-Y" etc.)

But such "Ctrl style" key shortcuts which are a bit more common nowadays should be quite easy to add to the editor...

^Z / shift-^Z would be sufficient. After all, I am (mostly) able to keep track of that in browsers, and not mistakenly reload the page when I'm trying to redo something...
