I was just thinking... it would be cool, but my guess is that it isn't the easiest to implement.
But let's say CE1 is set to use graphic of the "CE value of current element"-element. And we set the value for CE1 to 4, then wouldn't it be nice if the CE showed the graphic of a rock? And of course, when changing the value then the CE should change the graphic into the corresponding element.
When thinking about it... this also could be seen as a bug, considering the current looks of a CE using graphic of a "CE-value"-element.
CE value of element also for "use graphic of"?

Of course I have, I waited for that question...Holger wrote:Very interesting idea! This would probably be quite easy to add...
Any good idea or practical example what to do with such a functionality?
Let's say we want to build a slot machine. Each slot has 4 possible results: Emerald, diamond, crystal, empty space. Now, while generating a result then the slot machine spins all possible values. So instead of having 4 different CEs for simply displaying the graphic of the possible results, we have one CE which changes it's CE value every few frames.
Was that a good example?
"crazy"? Is that good or bad in this case?HerzAusGold wrote:Ah. What a crazy idea.
Do you think about something like "Galaga" ?
Galaga? Never heard of it...

Very good example -- now I understand your idea! :-)
Your solution would be nice because you won't have to edit any config file for this!
Besides that, simply use the "<element>.anim_mode: ce_value" config file option for a similar effect -- it then uses the current CE value as the number of the frame to display from the configured CE animation! :-)
