OK - I have been perusing this forum and cannot find what I need.

I want to know if where there is a list of the commands/options used in the soundsinfo.conf file. In other words, in the following below, what other words can be used in place of "passing," changing" etc.:

custom_1.passing"
custom_1.changing:

I have an animated transporter that I want to play the sound of the Star Trek transporters. I just cannot figure out how to make it so it is not continually playing all the time. I want it to just play when the player enters the transporter. I tried a bunch of ways based on others' work, but could not get the proper set of commands.

Thanks,
Lee

You can find the list into the file "conf_snd.c", in the "src" folder of RnD.

About your specific issue, I'm sorry but I have no clue (almost never used custom sounds in my sets).

You would probably use a change page to make the sound. You can assign sounds to individual change pages.

Thanks for the info. I will fool around with it and see what i can do.

I admit I need a refresher in how to use a change page. Over the last year or so i have been playing with R&D it has had to be very sporadic with quite a bit of time in between. Even when I downloaded and installed, I was not sure what all the package contained. I wish there was a "beginners guide to hacking R&D."

I have designed my own graphics, but had trouble uploading them - still not sure how the person who was kind enough to help with this did it!

Thanks again for the help,
Lee

You're welcome, Lee.

About "hacking" RnD, I must admit that my documentation is quite poor about conf files and styiling in general.

Nonetheless, I take the occasion to publicize it once more. You can find the documentation in the RnD website. At the end of the Editor Tutorial (which is still on its way to be completed) there is a link to my old CEs walkaround. Again, you won't find advanced styling options there, but you can get some hint about creating CEs, GEs, change pages and so on.

Have fun with RnD, and share your creations!
