Supaplex level - EPIC TRIP

Post by Marvin »

Hi guys,
I just created a supaplex level and decided to share it. This level is based just on pure logic thinking. You don't need some crazy stuffs with scissors and you don't have to use any trick to solve it. But be sure, it is not easy to finish this maze!
If someone will play it, or is somehow interest in this, want see solution, or whatever, please leave a comment, or PM me. If I see some activity, it will make me continue with making levels. Otherwise I will stop, since this level took me probably more then 10 hours to create at all..

Have fun and Think!

I downloaded the file, but how do I play it? I put it in a new dir under levels/ but it doesn't show up in the game.

What software do you use for it? If R'n'D, I don't know, how it works there. I guess, the best way how to play any supaplex level is using megaplex. You can download it here:
http://www.oldgames.sk/en/game/megaplex/download/1482/
It is 100% compatible and easy to use.

It looks like you can rename the .sp file to "levels.dat" and it will work as a one-level set in RnD.

I tried it as Anonycat said and he is right.

I'm very sorry for this, but I changed one detail in level   .

To play a single Supaplex style level in R'n'D, do as you did and add a file "levelinfo.conf" containing something like this:

Code: Select all

name: Epic Trip
author: Marvin
levels: 1
first_level: 1
filename: EPIC TRIP.sp
filetype: SP
Hope that helps!

Somewhere in the future, R'n'D will hopefully support drag'n'drop of single level files into the R'n'D window to play it...

Thanks, that worked! The level seems really hard. :-)

Better yet, please add a central on-line repository of levels, with the possibility to browse and download them directly from RnD, and with shared score lists. I know it's easier said than done, but it's a good target to aim for. ;-)

Definitely right! :-)

In fact, this exact point is on a prominent position of my (unwritten) "to do" list, as it will especially be useful for the upcoming Android version of R'n'D, where it will most probably be a bit harder for the user to add some new levels to the game than it is with the classic desktop PC version. (This could then also perfectly be combined with an online level (set) ranking system, and it would also allow for shared online highscore lists, just as you said.)

If only I had more time for all this...

Yes, I solved both in just a few days. Mamebg from the old Supaplex community sent me your levels and a link to this forum.
I must say, those are among the best designed levels I ever saw! Please make some more!
(And yes, I am the one from SpeedFix...)

srry for my super late response, I didnt expect activity here anymore, so I didnt check this page.
Thank you very much, Herman! Im really glad someone enjoy these levels. I saw your solutions. You made it through "Epic trip" exactly the way it was intended, except one little area in left top corner. I did a little foolish building mistake, red diskette was intended to be taken differently. But I see I did some bigger mistakes in "Use your brain". My idea was different then your way, but Im not very surprised, since in this kind of levels it is hard to avoid different possibilities. Anyway congrats on solving them:). here are original solutions (srry for the quality, I couldnt find sp.files so I captured it from R'n'D):

Btw I did about 35 levels long time ago (in 2005 or so), some of them were really complex (spent more then 200 hours to make them all), but I lost data before releasing them..
