FINALLY! a boulder dash remix!!!
Hi there,
finally I found a good boulder dash remix which is close to the original (no guessing: is this the boulder dash tune?) and which sounds very stereo (instead of the classic one: sounds very mono).
you can download it here:
http://boulder.cl4.org/music/zaga_-_boulder_dash.mp3
but Holger, I changed the volume a little. I can mail that file to you.

finally I have a music file... nothing is disturbing... sounds like the original but only better... no elements in it which you don't recognize... you'll find it nowhere on the internet, it's UNIQUE for RnD!
One problem: it's 1.2 mb of size -> zomis would you like to upload it?
Try it! I will make something like this for emerald mine and sokoban.

I just downloaded the piano midi file and gave it other instruments which suit with this kind of music I think and then I converted it to mp3 because not every midi card is the same (some are very bad!).
but grunt002: you said "not so cool relaxing" but don't forget the music in the commodore times was much worse than the current not-so-relaxing midi music!

It all depends on taste, I would say.
For me, I really like all those C64 style "chip tunes", and also the good old Amiga MOD tunes.
With MIDI, there's indeed the problem that you can't say how it might sound here or there. In my experience, for example, the Linux and Windows versions of Alan Bond's BD2K3 MIDI tunes sound very good, while they sound not-so-good on Mac OS X. But this might not be a problem of the OS (or the system's MIDI system), but of the SDL implementation, I'm afraid... :-/

Hello everybody,
I found another Boulder Dash remix which suits better in the game, I think.
Download it here:
http://brad.plig.net/aminet/dirs/aminet ... erdash.mpg
It still has to be converted to mp3 and besides the mp3 support does not work very well yet.
Post here what you think about it. Is it good enough to be used in the game itself? I think so.
