ENHANCED levels

Well, I was thinking about the levels being enhance.
For example add more back ground and CE into it, giving it a theme which makes sense if it's a story...
EX.:A guy named whatever must escape the military base by gathering enough whatever to proceed to the next arean

So you understand it, a bit change to the level making the level feel better to play, enhanced grapics.

Could be expecially nice for the "well-known" level sets, for example the original EM or SP levels -- playing the "same" levels, but with completely new challenges! :-)

Not a bad idea! Imagine good old Murphy in some dark cave instead of the integrated circuit!

Could it be an option under the setup screen? For example: TILE SET - default/supaplex/whatever/whatever... I'm sure this wouldn't be hard to accomplish. May be worth a try...

Have fun!

Well, in that case I would just realease a contribution 2005 called: Murphy in the dark caves or so.

And a background option would be cool!

Look at the "custom artwork" screen in the "setup" menu -- this is exactly what you're looking for (if it's just about using a different tile set).

For example, try to play the Supaplex levels with the BD2K3 graphics -- looks very cool! :-)

Is it already possible to create a background image and put it behind a level? If so, that would give the level-set some theme. No? Maybe it would be possible to have 1 large image for every level-set, and that image would be behind every level within the level-set. Hmm. Howbout that? You could draw a picture of a cave... or maybe have a real photo of an electronic circiut in the background for supaplex... Sigh. Of course, that would come with the troubles of remodifying black space. All the elements would have black instead of the background... Hmm. Unless! We could make transparency! Aha! Is that possible?

1. No
2. Nope

I believe those things (at least background image) is on Holger's todo list though, but I guess they won't be implemented in the near future.

Well, this would not be so hard -- there are already some elements which use transparency (well, classic bitmask transparency, no alpha-channel transparency), so this would not be a big problem when adding background images...

Yup.
