Posted: Fri Jun 08, 2007 11:35 pm
by Alan you have any? Post them here..... (this isn't even a fraction of my favorites list, but I can't post them because.......well, you know) ;-)

Watch full TV programs, music videos and catch! (some dead links, but hey)

Another one like the above.

And another one....

And yet another one!

Watch EVERY Southpark episode here.

Watch videos that have been "deleted" from YouTube (some caution here)

Convert streaming video (like YouTube's) straight to DivX AVI!

Newsgrounds Flash portal.....1000's of flash films and games (I like the later Madness series)

Amazing! Type a song and listen to it.....most of the time you can watch a video of that song! (usually a live version)

Another one like SeeqPod (just music though)

Find new bands and artists based on music you like by auditioning them. Uses some kind of weird algorythm thingie.

Another one like Pandora, a bit weird though.

Legal search and download MP3

Web Stuff

Cool disposable email. Great for joining sites and sending back the verification click without getting spam!

And another one....

And yet another one...

Share user passwords for lots of sites where you have to join (read the info)

Chat in MSN,AIM,YahooIM and GoogleTalk via your browser (handy if you're not at your own PC)

Another multi-IM in your browser like the above, (but a bit faster)

Check a POP3 email account via your browser (I've not tested this 100% yet, but it seems to work)

Online file conversion (look at step 2 to see all the types)

Test your firewall.

Test your connection speed around the world.

Free stuff

Loads of free programs (not mixed with shareware), updated frequently.

Nice list of free stuff ... index.html

Hard to find old versions of software

Best emulator site on the net.

Free PD games.

More free PD games.

Yet more free PD games.

Massive collection of abandonware games.

All the Commodore 64 games in one site.

A big list of online games (most are free) ... re&first=0

Hundereds of soundfonts!

Music CD\DVD and game covers.

Lots of desktop wallpapers

More wallpapers

Yet more wallpaper (duel monitor)

A good font site without any BS

Text, "How to" and Misc

Great tutorials for coding

All the source you'll ever need (I live in here ;-) )

Build "things" with detailed info (or just fun to read)

Like the above, but crossed with wiki.

Millions of quizzes (join, it's worth it for the stats you get)

Learn other languages with audio.

Nice and fast dictionary.

Want to know the meaning of some slang somebody used without asking and sounding like an idiot? ;-)

Quick translation (doesn't always work right though)

Watch what pictures are being uploaded to Flickr in realtime with a map. (weird!)

If you're old (like me) and used to play arcade machines of the 70's and 80s, you can print them out and make a mini version....collect them all! :-)

Internet archive (it's not the wayback machine, but its there as well)

Interesting things daily (apparently certified), check the archives.

Most of the urban legends in one site.

Find "Easter eggs" in everything! (good for DVDs), check out their sister site Bloopers for more interesting reads.

The Internet movie about every film ever made.

If you have taken, or plan to take any kind of "drug" then check here for detailed info about long term effects, side effects and the law (and hopefully it will put you off)

Click this every day to donate half a bowl of pet food to rescued animals for free :-) (I made this my home page so I don't forget) ... s?siteId=3

Have fun!

Apologies to Zomis......I've posted a lot of links which you'll have to check out since you're the mod. Sorry! :-( (they're all safe anyway)

I trust your judgement, Alan. I think you know which sites are good and which sites are bad. And if anyone has an opinion about if a site should be removed from your list, then they could just say so and I might consider if it should be removed or not. But until later I have only two things to say:

1. Nice list
2. You've missed the most important one:
That site has got everything from 1D-tetris to a "programming language inventor or serial killer" quiz (I've scored 5/10) :D

Ahh yes. Pointless could I forget that one!

Speed Demo Archive, people recording themselfs finishing games very fast. If you have the time check out the Resident Evil 4 speed run, amazing!

Here's somebody finishing Doom in about 20 minutes!

Note: the videos play sequentially but most have 2 copies (hi and low res)....just use the skip button to jump past the low res one. (the playlist only shows 5 videos, but they're all there)

Seriously....Baulder's Gate finished in 30 minutes!? And even more strange, Morrowind finished in 7 minutes! (it took me months!) :?

The speed demos would be very fun to see, too bad I have a poor dialup...

In any case, I'll add - because of the nice curiosities about maths - and not only...

I'll add also - because of the incredible amount of information, again about maths.

Given that I am getting mad and fuzzy about all this stuff, I'll add also

...and pass the turn 'till I'll be able to go out for a drink again...

Here's a good way to search for music using Google:-

intitle:"index.of" (mp3|mp4|avi) -html -htm -php -asp -cf -jsp

This looks through directories (a page without an index)

Replace with the song name you're looking for. Use fullstops instead of spaces in the song title for a wider search.

Me too!

This is probably fairly common, but anyway.
Free software downloads, plus a lot of other free stuff and reviews. I got quite a bit of software from here.

And for those who have XP (I think it also works for Vista) and want to use themes other than the default blue/green/silver, but don't want to pay for StyleXP or WindowsBlinds:

This site has an awesome free game on it:
Sorry, I couldn't resist :).
