Linux Conf Edit

Post by AutoFire55555 »

Can anybody make a Linux version of Conf Edit? :( Because I can only use the shell and it doesn't have the tools that Conf Edit has. :|

As far as I know, ConfEdit is written in VisualBasic, so I'm afraid there won't be a Linux version available any time soon (unless Alan Bond rewrites it in a language available for both Windows and Linux)... :-(

Ok. Well, another solution could be to make it so it will some how work on http://www.winehq.org/. Or he could make a linux version out of C.

As WINE is a Windows API emulation, it _should_ be able to run ConfEdit on Linux. If it doesn't, it is somehow incomplete. (What I want to say: One cannot expect Windows programs to be compatible with a (maybe) incomplete API emulation -- in most cases, this will outright be impossible.)

If he isn't a C programmer writing programs for Linux, he can't easily do this...
