RND Launch?

Post by Zomis »

Alan, just wondering...
What happened to RND Launch?
I know you've started that project, and I think the progress is quite good...
but when will it be released to the public?

Totally forgot about it..

After upgrading to XP, and finding CE-dit doesn't work properly on it, plus 3.1.0 coming out (with new map data), I decided the whole thing needs rewriting.
I'm migrating it to RealBasic anyway, because it compiles to a single exe and no stupid runtimes or installers.

Should be done soon, time permitting.

*edit*

Shouldn't this be the Programmer's Corner......... tut tut, bad moderator

it's does a bit of everything....

runs R&D with all the command line options, with a nice gui.
dumps all the info files from the rnd exe,
zips & unzips levels and level sets. (you can unzip-play-delete levels as well)
can dump a CE's full settings to normal ascii, so you can post it on a forum.

file to forum/forum to file .... mayby this is a bad idea, but you can dump any file (up to 5k) to a raw block of ascii, and post it on the forum. Then anybody can copy this text an recreate the file in RndLaunch. It means anybody can post demos and small levels on the forum without server space........ problem is it looks ugly in a post.

and some other things I forgot

I does no map alterations like Zomis' rndtool, but may have a small map viewer (which will work with zipped levels)

lol..well, I thought this could fit in General Discussion, 'cause I only wanted to check if you forgot about it, but you're right../me is moving

And while we're speaking about tools for RND, I hope you have patience for RNDTool 1.5, haven't started working on it yet :P
