Re: How to create custom graphics: The basics

First, find the directory on your computer where your own level set is stored. It is the following (depending on your operating system): Linux: .rocksndiamonds/levels in your "Home" folder Mac: Rocks’n’Diamonds/levels in your "Documents" folder Windows: Rocks’n’Diamonds/levels i...

Re: additional boulderdash levels?

I said the ones at whatever.tw didn't seem to be there any more. I remember back when I found them there, I downloaded and was able to convince myself by crypto checksums or -- I forget what -- that they were legit. But we have better sources now so, doesn't matter either way...

Re: additional boulderdash levels?

BTW, I had previously collected most (not all) of these files for myself from these alternatives: - some were on the Wayback Machine: http://web.archive.org/web/20170127005257/http://www.bd-fans.com - 11 random files existed at http://ftp.stu.edu.tw/FreeBSD/distfiles/rocksndiamonds/[various names], ...

Re: additional boulderdash levels?

Hi ellipirelli -- That final link -- https://www.artsoft.org/rocksndiamonds/levels/martijnmooij/2010-03-16/www.bd-fans.com/RnD.html -- does indeed point directly back to this site, Holger's artsoft.org. So apparently all of these files have already been here since long before we were discussing wher...

Re: Heartlight, a 90s single-screen Boulder Dash-like by Janusz Pelc

I'm not sure if there's a way to contact said person, as there's no email address at their YouTube channel 'About' page, and leaving an email address even if it has spam protection in the YouTube comments section doesn't seem to sit well with me personally, and who knows if the person is still aliv...

Re: Heartlight, a 90s single-screen Boulder Dash-like by Janusz Pelc

@RAP -- just curious, I went to the first youtube video link and see these comments from the author: Level created for PC version of Heartlight Deluxe. If you don't own Heartlight and you would like to play my chambers you can download the whole game from this site (is legal - developer released thi...

Re: old level designer says hello

Can you possibly send me your set of tapes, in case I do have any errors or omissions? This was with the tapes embedded in Holger's distribution of such things, https://www.artsoft.org/RELEASES/rocksndiamonds/levels/Contributions-1.2.0.7z (access from https://www.artsoft.org/rocksndiamonds/levels/)...

Re: Undo/Redo disappeared

On the main menu of regular RnD, there is an Info Screen option; within that, Version Info shows lots of details about the program version.

Are these menu items omitted from RnD Jue II? Seems like an unhelpful change...

Re: old level designer says hello

Hi Equinox -- I remember quite enjoying your (3 published) levelsets, though I don't think I've touched any in at least a decade... Speaking of old things, RnD 4.2.0.3 is many revs out of date, and old-tape-compatibility is a fun subject that Holger gets to keep revisiting all the time :) I bet if y...

Re: Rockford Graphics for Custom Graphics

I did that long time ago and posted it to this forum. You did indeed: https://www.artsoft.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=11944 -- I link here just because I already went and found it, might as well save others the trouble. The descriptions of what you did / changed / state of play / etc. in the RnD post...

Re: Yeah...I feel like a newb asking this

Unfortunately, Google makes it more and more complicated (or even nearly impossible) with each new Android version to access files and folders in the device's file system without using special tools or special tricks. :( ... and that's the charm of doing it strictly inside RnD. Even if you could ea...

Re: Yeah...I feel like a newb asking this

Ah, I must have vaguely remembered the drag-and-drop support. But that sounds like the hard part! Both D-n-D and unzipping are at least moderately hard problems. Being able to click on a link on the scores server and do what's already implemented (unzip into the right place in RnD directory structur...

Re: Yeah...I feel like a newb asking this

just download the archives, extract them into the “levels” directory Doesn't the Android port (and maybe iOS?!) have in-game downloading & management of .zip / .7z archives? Seems like the desktop edition should have that as well -- or all should, if I'm mistaken about the mobile editions. That...
