Yup Sascha is right here, this is a bug. The two left steel walls turn to normal walls like this..... ¸000¸000¸000¸000¸013¸000¸000 ¸000¸000¸000¸000¸013¸000¸000 ¸013¸013¸002¸013¸013¸000¸000 ¸000¸000¸013¸000¸013¸000¸000 ¸000¸000¸002¸013¸013¸013¸013 ¸000¸000¸013¸000¸000¸000¸000 ¸000¸000¸013¸000¸000¸000...

Aren't these from BoulderRush? (the colours give it away)

Hi Gamer96, Should it work in 3.1.2? I can't remember what version I used. Do you mean empty in the preview window on the title screen? (its supposed to look like that and not give away the solution!) Or do you mean the level is empty (in the editor). There was a problem like this for pac-man where ...

Heh, I made one like this too (with instruments as well). Its still in the archive, called Music Machine:- http://www.zomis.net/rnd/download.php?id=371 (check out levels 2 onwards) Mine started out a bit like yours I guess (drums only), but I just kept adding stuff. Anyway, funny you bring this subj...

BTW: The level file is only a few bytes smaller than the entire RAM memory of the Commodore 64!)
But the single 8-bit "world.PCX" is larger than the RAM from my first PC! :-D

Anyways, thanks everybody!

Interesting that everbody has a similar game time (for the 1st play anyway)

A bit late for that isn't it?

You and I have already quoted this spoiler above!

*edit*
I think it was hidden by intention! :-)
Yep, and now it is even more hidden since I've now changed the package.

All I did was to open up Zelda II, go to the level editor (on Link's belt), scroll right (using cursor keys) until map position 42,0 is on top left corner. Then down (still using cursor keys) until (42, 33) is in the top left corner. Ahhh ha! It does do it here everytime......I would always go back...

It has nothing to do with zelda2.

It has happend to me with the levels I've made before Z2, the older RNDs EXE, and the older SDLs so its been with us for a while, how long I don't know.

I tried your debug level and I can't reproduce it again. Did you fix anything ? Funny how it works when you haven't been playing that long. Tell me about it! Nope, I didn't fix anything.....this is exactly why its so hard to playtest these type of levels. So I'm just going to chalk this one ...

I pressed left to scroll left and RnD was shut down.
Holger?

(Let me explain, I've been trying to prove this one to Holger for a few weeks now, in fact he just mentioned this "elusive" bug in comparison to the Z2 bug.....like an hour ago)

*relatively huge* is an understatement, this is a really huge bad problem. :( Just a guess but I take it you never killed all the zombies in the penultimate room? (and I don't blame you if you didn't! ;-) ) The fact that you can see butterflies means the left side scan never finished, so some...

Alan probably could have figured that out if he didn't know that already, but he probably just didn't think of it if he had quick doors on anyway.
Humm, I don't think I would of found that out! Oh well.

I'll just add this to the list of things I forget.....Time limit off, Umlauts ;-)

Well, please don't tell me that you did all _this_ work with _that_ PC!
Yes, since Pacman. It isn't that bad though.

Oh dear! Well, my current PC is a Pentium3 450mhz + Geforce3 so I think your ahead a bit, I get about 25 FPS which is a bit bad. If you're not bothered about how it looks then you can play RND in 256 colour mode and regain about 10 FPS! For anybody who wants to do this in XP, right click the RND exe...
