For as much I understood about your task, I could only think that you have no way around making all those different CEs and pages for each different situation. You could use Zomis' scripter, though. I could dig the problem a bit, but I cannot promise about.

You shouldn't worry if you didn't get feedback, the RnD forum is really variable in its "reactions".
Maybe posting the levelset as a "zip" archive could increase your audience (the "rar" format is less common and not everybody has the utility to unpack it).

Well, please don't tell me that you did all _this_ work with _that_ PC!

Kudos to you, Alan.

I am looking forward to play your new release, Alan, it sounds very promising.

Unfortunately, since when my laptop passed to better life, I have big performance problems with RnD - I fear that a 500Mhz CPU and a Savage4 are not the best combo to run it smoothly - each screen-scroll is a pain...

OK, still off-topic - this thread seems almost ready for a split... I am here to ask for a fix ;-) Although I don't give stats a big relevance, they are invalidated by such broken mass-downloads. For instance, now all of my files result to have been downloaded 3 times more (or even more) than the re...

Although it is a bit OT here, I am having problems too. I've tried to mass-download my files, and I got a bunch of errors like this: Warning: mkdir() [function.mkdir]: File exists in /var/www/zomis/rnd/files/massdl.php on line 164 Warning: rename(Trucky Cargos,00398_Trucky Cargos) [function.rename]:...

Very well, apart of the issues already raised and those that will arise when all the stuff will have to be put together, I see that there is no point againts starting such an i18n, very well. Although gettext can be wide or complicated, the format used is quite simple - in practice, it isn't much di...

Oh well, there was no need to post such a dump... furthermore because those records are ridiculous... a simple "80" would have been enough (OK, I know, you wanted to publicize the RNDDB a bit, that's right... ) Mmm, I could easily fit in a 128 CEs limit... I have plenty of room for...

I've had a look to the PO format and to gettext. Of course, that would be the most complete and most appropriate way to make such an i18n, but I don't know if that would add work on Holger's part... parsing a file that only has pairs of strings is far faster and easier than parsing a PO file. On my ...

Well, using another program to do the work would throw away all of my fun - I would create such a program not because we need it, but because it would be good practice for my C++ studies... well, I could use the same ".po" file format, though. In any case, I'll wait for Holger's "OK&q...

it probably would work for the current R'n'D You mean that I could do some work there and expect to see a next RnD version with a language selector? I could separate the main things (such as the setup-tree strings and the editor strings), and translate them, but only if you say that it can be easil...

Line 514:

Code: Select all

[ 1#, 1F]	"And not to forget:"
[ 2#, 1F]	"Artsoft"
[ 1#, 1F]	"As Template"

I think I could do that, though.

For what regards the room taken by CEs on the elements' list, I think it could be managed with some "show more/less CEs" fake-elements (like the +/- that expands and collapses groups) - but of course it should be independent... it may also work in a 1/5/10 manner (or better, in a 3/6/9 man...

Damn... here is the list of all string literals found in the main source folder of RnD 3.2.3: http://www.zomis.net/rnd/info.php?f=677 ...it's about 10.000 different literals spawned over 131 files! OK, most of them won't need to be translated, but hey... it would be a tough work only to separate tho...
