Zooming after game-end
4.0.0.2 on Linux: After the game has ended, RnD is still running the game engine; I speed it up to top speed to watch the remaining spaceships & bugs fight it out with the swarming amoeba... and I shrink the window to shove it in a corner that won't overlap my browser & terminal windows. Whi...

Re: http: logins are so 1990 :)
hmmm, I guess I would say, go HTTPS and send a broadcast PM to users whose avatars etc. are http:, showing them how their comments are uglified and how they should fix it... Won't do any good for users who aren't active any more, but mostly their comment won't be looked at, so overall effect should ...

Re: http: logins are so 1990 :)
Hmmm, yeah, that's a problem.
Are those links emitted by the forum software itself, or inline images etc. referred to by
user-supplied link? If the software itself, I would think you could find or provide https
equivalents (but might be a bit much messy surgery on the code)...

Re: levels by a. buschbeck, sascha mücke, lee brewer etc
I also (probably like most long-term RnD / Boulder-Dash-descendent aficionados) collect old levelsets. I have a big slushpile in a "Downloads" directory, to go through "one of these years". It's most convenient for me if Holger does the main work of organizing it all into RnD-com...

Re: levels by a. buschbeck, sascha mücke, lee brewer etc
Suggestion: collect a text listing of the files you wish to upload -- a catalog. Upload that. That way people can evaluated whether you have items missing from existing collections. I mean something that would look sort of like this, but with full contents rather than a selected example: -rwxr--r-- ...

Re: Request for improvements of automatic tape playback
That's probably been the cause in many cases, but I'm certain not all. If it could just remember a "where I was before I reset to safe default" levelset name -- even if there was no UI to retrieve it, beyond `cat ~/.rocksndiamonds/levelsetup.conf` -- that'd be a help. And if you're resetti...

Re: Request for improvements of automatic tape playback
It overwrote for me. My levelsetup.conf has always been fairly fragile, gets overwritten all the time. So I may have provoked whatever bug causes that, rather than a direct effect of the --auto flags. I'll try to repro some time soon.

Re: left/right arrows on main screen (& generally in menus)
Sounds good :) Not everything must be pure. In actual play, I almost always do: 1. Play level N, doing various sorts of retries etc. until I defeat it 2. RnD auto-increments me to level N+1 3. I hit back-arrow (then curse and use the mouse, if I'm not on the right line), return to level N 4. I hit '...

Re: Request for improvements of automatic tape playback
It all works. I was going to suggest an "--autowarp" flag, but then I tried it and it worked :) -- and then I checked the "--help" output and there it was. I see you didn't do "--autodemo" as you suggested you might. Running any sort of --auto* annoyingly overwrites ~/....

left/right arrows on main screen (& generally in menus)
Tiny feature request: when the vertical cursor isn't focused on Levelset, can you make it so left/right arrows still mean "down/up level#" except on the two (Info, Setup) which have right-arrow submenus? Also noted, while getting the wording right for this: It's inconsistent that right-arr...

Re: [SOLVED] bug?: SDL2 doesn't play music
It's Ubuntu 12.04, as close as possible! All subdirs build except SDL_mixer/external/libmodplug-0.8.8.4, which builds but fails to install. ... Ok, got it to work by a bunch of hacking. Built with its own internal libsmpeg, I was able to get all the way to built & running RnD, which didn't compl...

Ugh. All snarled up in ancient versions of libtool, automake etc.
