Re: Visual Glitch in Sobigo Levelset by Jurgen Bonhagen
Indeed it has a level start element! So everything is well-defined level-wise. But the player that is appearing right after the level has started causes the game engine to change the focus to that player (which by intention and by level design should not change the scroll position). However, as the ...

Re: Visual Glitch in Sobigo Levelset by Jurgen Bonhagen
Initially, the "camera" (playfield focus position) is centered on the player. However, in the level mentioned above, there is no player at all in the playfield when the level starts, but the player is dynamically created using a custom element right after the game starts. The bug was cause...

Re: Visual Glitch in Sobigo Levelset by Jurgen Bonhagen
First of all, I wish you a happy new year!
Thank you for reporting this bug, which in fact exists since quite some time (at least since version 4.3.7.0).
I have just debugged and fixed this issue!

Re: [IRRELEVANT] Snapping candies (and potentially other items) turns candies into [?]
OK, there was indeed a bug involved! With the current version 4.4.0.0, when loading a native BD level and just saving it (which is then written in R'n'D level format), the BD player's snap element is set to "Supaplex Terminal" by error!
Just fixed that.

Just fixed that.

Re: [IRRELEVANT] Snapping candies (and potentially other items) turns candies into [?]
Are you 100 % sure that you have added this snap element by yourself? Because, somebody just told me that an unintended snap element suddenly showed up after changing level specific colors in a level using the BD engine. I would be happy to know if there is a program bug, or if this was just...

Re: Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.4.0.0 released!
Merry Xmas indeed! Just curious: added support for level specific colors by using specially crafted images added support for level specific information text messages from main menu Is the first one exclusive for BD engine? And the second one, I assume, is a level description of some sort? Is it goi...

Re: The game doesn't remember fullscreen setting when Alt + Enter is pressed
This works now as many people expect it to work:
Set "Setup -> Game & Menu -> Show Menu to Save Setup: off", and every setup change will be saved immediately -- including the state of fullscreen graphics.

Re: Rockford looks really weird sideways
... and some comments on the posts regarding slightly different colors (like shown for the different yellow colors): This was caused by converting the graphics from old Amiga ILBM graphics files from Deluxe Paint IV to Linux using the netpbm graphics conversion tools (or maybe some other tools, like...

Re: Rockford looks really weird sideways
Haven't answered to this thread for too long! :o It all looks great, I think -- both the improved "plain" player graphics and animations, and the new BD style graphics with the player holding the bomb and the rocket launcher! :) Do you have modified version of the original PNGs available f...

Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.4.0.0 released!
Finally! 40 years after the first release of The Game That Started It All , nearly 30 years after the first release of my own little clone of this game, around 20 years after I first planned to add native BD support to it, 10 years after something like a vague announcement in the Boulder Dash forum...

Re: Pre-release 6 of Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.4.0.0 available!
subtle audio bug: in the BD engine, when you complete a level, the "score ticking down" sfx stops playing when you reach 10 seconds left if you're using rnd's Classic Sounds, probably because boulder dash normally has the designated "low time" sounds play instead Indeed. And you...

Re: Pre-release 6 of Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.4.0.0 available!
I have updated the game engine on the high score server to the latest version, and I will re-run all those failed tapes for BD levels again (which will hopefully "heal" some tapes). OK, all failed tapes of BD levels since 2024-01-01 were verified again, changing 2794 failed tapes to 1158.

Re: Pre-release 6 of Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.4.0.0 available!
They're showing up as bad tapes even locally. Like I go back to play it back again []|>, and it seems to mess up more often than usual. So far, I 'haven't noticed any patterns as to what causes it to happen more often with these. It this case, it does not have something to do with the high score se...
