Re: Invalid links in Editor Tutorial

Holger, yes, those are the exact form I have them in :) Good to know! I wonder from where you got those files, as the Wayback Machine does not have them! :-o But I am happy that not all those R'n'D resources are lost (even if some of the files are missing)! Zomis collected a lot of interesting and ...

Re: Invalid links in Editor Tutorial

Holger, I think I've mentioned this before and offered to hand the pile of stuff off to you. If not (or if so!), I make that offer again... What I have are some 312 of the files from zomis.net, numbered from 3 to 733, plus metadata but not actual files of 56 more. Cannot remember, but I am definite...

Re: Invalid links in Editor Tutorial

I have those zomis.net artifacts (and many others), saved from somewhere , I'm not sure where, in mid-2022. Actually I think I got them from a session of manual ad hoc scraping from web.archive.org, but have only vague memories and circumstantial evidence to support this :) Oh, that's cool -- I tho...

Re: Invalid links in Editor Tutorial

Hi Vikits, sorry for this documentation being quite old (nearly 20 years old now), so some links to external resources may be (or are) outdated or invalid. As most of the documentation is still very useful, I have decided to keep it despite these issues. The two linked pages (with meta data) can sti...

Re: Sound playing too fast in EMC levels

OK, I've checked it, and I can conform it. It is in fact not caused by a different sampling rate, but by playing those samples in loop mode, while they should instead be played only once, but at every EM game engine "cycle" (which is the game engine frame where the action occurs, while all...

Re: Invisible pannel in level creator for Bouloulderdash

Now I know!! The level editor menu doesn’t display in Boulderdash levelset (GDash levels) (R&D 4.4.0.2 on Windows 11). For using the latest GDash level collection, you also need the latest R'n'D version, which is 4.4.0.4! That should fix the problem! :) In general: When having trouble, please al...

Re: Invisible pannel in level creator for Bouloulderdash

Wow, that's strange, and I have never seen this! :-o R'n'D indeed increases the game's window width for the level screen for the GDash level set (as defined in the graphics configuration files for this level collection). A few questions: Am I right that the window size itself does not change at all ...

Re: Sound playing too fast in EMC levels

Hi dazel, welcome to the R'n'D forum! :-) I never noticed this problem so far! But it seems very likely to me that something like that could well be possible, because all those sounds in Emerald Mine have completely different sampling rates in the original game, which always seemed a bit crazy to me...

Re: TAS diagonal key

Very good point indeed -- currently it is next to impossible to do diagonal movements in single step mode. I think your idea using an additional, special key makes sense. Maybe it could also work in an even more generic way, to use it as some sort of "delay key" that simply delays processi...

Re: Add undo/redo keys

a peculiar blind spot: there's an option for undo/redo to have dedicated buttons on the ui (though in BD artwork only undo appears) This bug (only undo button shown) should already be fixed, and the fix should be available with the next version soon. but you can't set a dedicated key shortcut for t...

Re: Two-layered sprites + Oversized elements

Yeah, I guess that makes sense, although it's such a strange way of implementation, but honestly better than nothing. I'm sure that it's strange! :-D In fact, I just used what GDash used to implement (a limited number of) level specific colors, extending it just a little bit to (a) allow for seven ...

Re: Two-layered sprites + Oversized elements

In fact, we have several quite different techniques (AKA feature requests) described in this thread. Some of them are: 1. Game graphics that have a different (in most cases: larger) size than the size defined as ".tile_size". This is currently not supported in any way, but at least some ef...

Re: [4.4.0.4] About Info screens + "S RT GAME"

Oops, that should not happen. I'll have a look what broke it ... looks weird, all those black rectangles. Regarding the missing "TA" in "S RT", you're right, of course. moving the level info icon off-screen should fix it. I feel like the "Level Info" and "L...

Re: Boulder Dash, More time needed?

This is most likely due to the problem that caves designed for NTSC C64 computers do not play at the same speed than on a PAL C64. Some more details: According to reports intermission 3 cannot be solved on the PAL-C64 version, as the arrival of Rockford was delayed for too long due to the frequency ...

Re: Better Game Elements menu for Boulder Dash

Holger, if you're reading this, feel free to add this to the official "GDash levels for R'n'D" and "Boulder Dash" packages. Finally found the time to review the new helpanim/helptext files -- looks great! :D Just added them to the GDash levels for R'n'D -- will be available with...
