Help with CE automatic generation

In one of my levelsets, I've encountered a problem when implementing Improved Inventory . To solve it, I need a level that would do the following: (I'll convert it to my concrete needs when I'll see it.) I have a list of elements numbered 0-40, let's say it's: 0-9 = leter 0-9 10-35 = letter A-Z 36 =...

How? > But then I'd have to stop antialiasing all my 3D output for graphics Gee, you're right, background would look very strange in BD2K3... :( But most levelsets that I've tried to create until ...

Level backgrounds

Level backgrounds are a thing that can't be done very good with CEs but could look very cool. For examples, see some boulderdash clones at http://www.firststarsoftware.com/boulderdash.htm .

algorithms using only group elements aren't very good
Yes the random generator could be done easier with them, I've meant that your mazes are better than, for example, this one.

I consider those algorithms much better than those using group elements (not that group elements would be bad, but algorithms using only group elements aren't very good). Those are the best random levels I've seen...anyway, an exit is useful thingy... :)

Alan's Random Levels v2 : level 7

http://www.zomis.net/rnd/download.php?id=22

Although an interesting algorithm, there doesn't seem to be any exit, is this ok?
(And also there isn't any envelope describing the algorithm features as in previous levels.)

Favorite levelset(s) / level styles

(Note: not adding real "poll" because it's a nonsense to add every one levelset ever created. To vote, post a text instead.) I think most of all I've liked Richard's "The Invasion of the Spaceships" levelset (there was a download link somewhere in the forum). There are both puzzl...

Im pretty sure hes referring to the element info page under a CE's settings, whereas it gives the standard propertys of an element and the element description. Yep, that's what I've meant - to be able to comment CE techniques that you use in your levels. That can't be done just in name (although it...

Editable custom element descriptions

What about making custom element descriptions editable? With that, the level author could explain what CE techniques he uses, what does each element do and generally add comments to the element.

Strange, I had the same idea recently... btw, what about adding graphicsinfo.conf element ID to info page? Like when you want to change graphics for just one element and you don't know its ID, you don't need to execute "print graphicsinfo.conf" (or search for graphicsinfo.conf somewhere in...

Btw: another bug with side door (in v3.1.0): Sometimes when you load a levelset with different graphics, the door background remains there (if it wasn't redefined in the another graphics?) I've encountered that when switching from rnd_jue to BD2K3. Oh well maybe I had to create a new thread for that...

Looks like the levelset needs EMC elements available from 3.1.1 (worked for me).

Oh... after some tests I've realised I've described the situation incorrectly. The bug is: I've created a custom element A with these settings: - walkable over (unprotected) from all directions - element changes to [yellow player] after delay 10 frames Then I've created a small (15x15) level with ye...

Walkable over element changes

When player stands on an element, and the element changes to other element, the player gets killed. That's OK, but it's not OK when the element it changes to is walkable over too. Example: I have elements A and B thare walkable over (unprotected) from all directions. A changes to yellow player after...
