Re: Rocks'n'diamonds - Show keys 2014
Hi -- for those of us not doing active artwork design etc. -- what do we do with this?!? Well, I guess I figured out most of it for myself, so here are my notes: I downloaded the full thing: rnd_show_keys_2014_wide_rnd_2013.zip. If I make the extracted directory live at either my own directory ~/.ro...

Re: Fixed Martin Brentnall level 14 "Let Them In"
Sorry to resurrect an old topic, but I just found this and thought I'd chime in. :) Hi Martin -- I must apologize for not actually having tried to email you outside of this forum, like I said I was going to. I was going to do it eventually, but I'm glad you found your way here without my tardy prom...

EMC levels, AGA/ECS vs. large/small graphics
I'm seeing some graphical glitches with the "Small Game Graphics" mode and certain EMC levels. An example is "The Adventures of Mr. B Part 1" ("$RO_GAME_DIR/levels/Emerald Mine Club/emc_adventures_of_mr_b_1" and its associated graphics files "$RO_GAME_DIR/levels/Em...

Another 64/32-bit playback problem?
Attached is a tape for level 35 of "The adventures of Mr. B Part 1" (level file "$RO_GAME_DIR/levels/Emerald Mine Club/emc_adventures_of_mr_b_1/35", tape file "$USERDATA_DIRECTORY/tapes/emc_adventures_of_mr_b_1/035.tape"). This actually plays out three different ways on...

First I planned to run it completely inside the shell (to be able to batch-run it regularly), but I've lost focus on this, as it would require changes regarding graphic and sound output at several places, wh...

Re: Tapes created in 3.3.0.1 (AMD64) misfire in 3.3.1.2
An interim solution (to find out how many tapes are affected) would be to auto-play all your tapes automatically over night, and see which tapes succeed, and which (and how many) are broken when played with the latest version. (See the "autoplay LEVELDIR [NR ...]" command line command for...

Tapes created in 3.3.0.1 (AMD64) misfire in 3.3.1.2
I have on my system two RnD binaries. One was provided by Canonical / Ubuntu in rocksndiamonds_3.3.0.1+dfsg1-2_amd64.deb (available from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/oneiric/amd64/rocksndiamonds/3.3.0.1+dfsg1-2 ). I built the other myself from source. Both are 64-bit (AMD64) binaries. Some tapes ori...

Re: Sokoban Solution
I'm thinking of adding a third kind of tapes which contain "demo tapes" (maybe stored in a "demos" sub-directory) which could be played automatically after some time of idling in the main menu. I sometimes move files around in my tapes directories, e.g. in ~/.rocksndiamonds/tape...

Re: Changable texts in menu
The "R'n'D jue" levelsets (installable from http://www.artsoft.org/rocksndiamonds/levels.html ) does this sort of thing extensively. Note there is also a complete "R'n'D jue" game, separately compilable from RnD sources -- I have never actually run that and am not sure what it do...

Re: Widescreen mode [800x560]
Will we be able to drag the corner of a window [or whatever the local window manager's "resize window" action is] and thus change the number of viewed playfield cells? That would be nice. I see you now have original and half-size tiles. Any possibility of creating arbitrary tile sizes? You...

Re: An idea for the next generation files archive
Ok, that seems like a healthy attitude -- and it helps guide things like this. With no need to consider how to monetize, that makes it easier to do some parts of an online interactive levels / solutions repository.
