The original game must be played by one human alone. Currently, I use only one real player, and a "friend" CE, with the swap players technique. This is the best way to simulate the behaviour of the original game (although the player must collect an additional element as soon as possible, n...

Anyway, I have no intention to "fix" anything. Just, perhaps, to simplify things, as understanding the current implementation is horribly difficult, even for me! And, of course, I keep the current version as a working backup, and trying to use your new features in XOR is the best way to te...

Thanks, Holger! I'm not sure I will modify the current implementation of XOR, as it works fine now, but maybe I'll do it, as I don't like the current complexity. I have to evaluate if I can simplify the current method enough with the new features. And I have to find some free time... Anyway, I'm gla...

Thanks for the info. Glad you have something already. But take your time. I'm not in a hurry!

Well, good graphics, indeed! Your emerald mine set is almost sufficient, but I would prefer completely new graphics, of course. The underwater world is perhaps a good idea, but we will have to find or record underwater sounds too. Not sure it's easy. It is not necessary to do the graphics in 3D, of ...

Hi! Thanks for your appreciation on the game concept. I have already tried to grab the Amiga graphics. Unfortunately, they are not very good, and the tiles are 24x24 pixels instead of 32x32 in RnD. I have tried to scale them, but the result is horrible! Furthermore, I cannot grab the animations. I h...

XOR v0.9

Here is the latest, and probably the last beta of XOR: XOR_v0.9.zip I have added the tutorial level, some readme files, and improved score files. I have had a good confirmation that level 14 of the Proscion set is really unplayable. Also, I have downloaded a fresh copy of XOR for the Amiga, and comp...

XOR for R'n'D

I have developed a varaint of Prospector in the Mazes of XOR for R'n'D. There are several differences with the original game, but the principle is the same: It uses the R'n'D graphics and sounds. You have to pick up an additional element at the very beginning of each level to be able to swap the two...

Forum problem?

Thanks to Google, I have just discovered this thread in the New Ideas forum, about Prospector in the mazes of XOR. I would like to post in that thread, but strangely, when I click on the Post Reply button, I am redirected to the main index page. Seems I can't post in the whole New Ideas forum. Somet...

I confirm that the latest beta works as expected. I have played all levels now, and I haven't been able to find a bug! :) However, I was unable to complete level 14 of the Proscion set, called "Vela Carina". To be absolutely sure that that was not due to a bug, I have played that level wit...

XOR beta 8

Here it is! XOR_v0.8.zip (Requires R'n'D v 2007-10-31 or greater!) There are no tapes any more in the archive, but all scores files have been created by playing version beta 8. All levels with a score file are therefore playable, and I don't think that are still bugs. However, this is still a beta, ...

Yes! I have probably a bug-free version now! I'm just finishing to replay some levels, and I haven't noticed any problem yet. The method explained in my previous message was a good idea, although it was more difficult to control everything than I thought. I will probably post a new beta tomorrow...

Thanks, and congratulations! BTW, maybe I've found a new way to kill the player. Since, when a zeppelin or atom can move left, there is an empty space to its left, I have added a change page in those elements that creates a non-walkable invisible CE to the left side of the element each time it hits ...
