Re: Reference Elements, CE values and CE scores explained
OK...got through the rest of them and they make sense. Thanks a lot for these examples. I have used other work arounds for the transporter concept you made with the player triggering CE and the "self" CE using two different CEs (let's use 001 and 002). Instead of using the REF elements, I ...

Re: Reference Elements, CE values and CE scores explained
Thanks for all of this...finally getting life out of the way to go back through this and learn! I give up! I just spent an hour or more trying to figure out why 003 is used in example 3 at all. This one (custom element 003) is in fact quite simple and has not much to do with the remaining CE tricker...

Error in graphics when rolading and installing R&D
OK...had this problem before and discussed in another thread. It was suggested I scrap the former installation and re-install. I downloaded the latest, installed it, and get the following error still - not sure why these are singled out! Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.3.6.0 (161 %).png Rocks'n'Diamonds 4.3.6.0 ...

Re: So where are the level files that are loading?
Now I also am very confused b/c I downloaded only from artsoft.org. However, my grandsons were playing with the machine, game, and my levels. It could be they were, for some reason, monkeying around. Simple solution is I will just save my levels in a file (and another I want to keep), and then wipe ...

Re: Help! New version messed something up in editor
Now this is getting weird!
I must have, somehow, after installing renamed it?!?!!
I just loaded it and found it is 4.3.0.2
All I thought I did was download and install. Although my grandsons were playing with it and have the knowledge how to do things like that?

Re: So where are the level files that are loading?
OK...found them...
So why are the .level files inside there, not inside the documents folder, and yet have a reference to the level name inside the documents folder?
I right clicked the Rocks'n'Diamonds icon and hit "show package contents."So why are the .level files inside there, not inside the documents folder, and yet have a reference to the level name inside the documents folder?

Re: Reference Elements, CE values and CE scores explained
THis is a great start, but I admit I only got to example 3 before realizing I was not understanding. Here is you explanation and my anaylsis as I tried to reason it all out: Level 3: Reference element "CE value of element triggering change" This level has two different custom elements: One...

Help! New version messed something up in editor
When I installed the latest Rocks'n'Diamonds version, the editor (ONLY) has messed up graphics for the BD style walls. Any ideas?
Yet in side the game graphics are OK:

So where are the level files that are loading?
This is somewhat related to my last post. I asked where the level files are stored and was told (on a Mac): Documents/Rocks'n'Diamonds/levels. I have a set I named TRON_2018. I put them in there and they load/work/play great. Except one thing... Where in the world are the level files themselves such...

Re: Yeah...I feel like a newb asking this
I REALLY appreciate all these replies and also patience in my getting back here. Family issues kept me away.
I will need to go back through all of this and make more specific replies. Again thanks for your answers and patience.

Yeah...I feel like a newb asking this
OK...embarrassed to ask, but although I have been using R&D for a couple decades now, I did it the hard way. I originally modified existing graphics and the .conf files to make them work. I never used the program for making levels b/c I am on a Mac and did not want to install and run windows. So...
