Re: Sokoban level format
Thanks a lot for bringing the case of the classic Sokoban level sets (especially those of David W. Skinner) back to my attention! :) In fact, you do not need a converter! And you don't have to be a programmer to convert them for R'n'D! :-) It may be long forgotten (I think it was discussed decades a...

Re: Any interest in having a Matrix room for instant chat?
I also would say just try it out and see what happens. :) There may indeed be discussions that work better in real-time than in a web forum, where discussions may take days and weeks, and not every discussion must always be made in the forum. As soon as something is available, I promise I will have ...

Re: Any interest in having a Matrix room for instant chat?
I will be unhappy with this if useful discussion happens there and is not copied here, as I am not going to add Yet Another online forum to my rounds. What if you raise whatever discussion you think you were going to raise there, here, and see how it goes, first? This is only slightly less realtime...

Re: 'Microban' best scores not saved on server?
Hi Bryan, indeed you are right -- I can see ten tapes from you played on 2024-04-28, and they are all marked as "broken_tape". I will check what might be the reason for this error message, and will let you know once I know more!

Re: Any interest in having a Matrix room for instant chat?
First of all, welcome to the forum! :-) I think this could be a good idea if there are enough people interested in a chat room for R'n'D (taking into account that this forum is really low-traffic recently)! As I would probably not set it up by myself, and wouldn't be sure which existing service (lik...

Re: "force solving levels" vs "allow skipping levels"
It would be a lot less confusing to make these into a single user interface setting with >2 values if it needs to fit on a single line, perhaps "Allow Skipping Levels: No / Ask / Yes" I think both variants are far better and at the same time much more intuitive than the current implementa...

Re: Settings in request window
Those "fake screenshots" to demonstrate your idea indeed look visually appealing. :) On second thought, I would be interested if this (a graphical alternative to the current implementation) is your main motivation, or if those changes might address usability concerns you might have experie...

Re: suplaplex engine doesn't let you immediately quit to menu upon death
Yes, there's indeed too much delay after a "game over" situation in the native Supaplex game engine. And fixing this should not break anything. So I have fixed this now, setting the "game over" state before the "lead out delay" of that engine (instead of setting it afte...

Re: "force solving levels" vs "allow skipping levels"
Yes, these two settings may look a bit confusing at first (and maybe they are confusing). They are used to accomplish the following restrictions (or their absense) when playing levels: - "force solving levels" set to "off": You can simply select and play every level of every leve...

Re: Door animation and restarting a level are buggy when Enter key is pressed too fast
Both bugs are fixed now:
- pressing a key while doors are closing doesn't cause a mess anymore
- returning to the main menu by pressing a key is not possible anymore when asking to play again is enabled
Thanks again for reporting these really nasty bugs!

Re: highlight name of current player/team in hall of fame list
This is a good idea, I think, and I have just implemented it nearly(*) as described. (*) However, we cannot use the yellow font (although I agree that this would be the best solution here), because all four default fonts are already in use: - font.text_1.SCORES is used by the score position number (...

Re: add some way to play a hall of fame tape with the keyboard
referring to this screen: currently the only way to play the tape of this entry is to click on the the play button. i think this is the only non-editor aspect of the menu that requires you to use the mouse to do something. the obvious solution to me seems like "press ENTER to view tape, press ...

Re: Restart on GUI
These are a lot of questions and suggestions. I have just read it all again, but I will have to test most things to say something meaningful about it. (Especially testing things on Android is always a pain in the rear part.) At least regarding touch buttons and testing them on non-touch devices: The...

Re: Door animation and restarting a level are buggy when Enter key is pressed too fast
Indeed! I have never noticed this, but now I ask myself how I could have overseen that strange misbehavior! :o I haven't had a closer look, but the reason is most probably that there is a short delay (about one second or so) before the "Game over! Play again?" request opens (to hav...

Re: The game doesn't remember fullscreen setting when Alt + Enter is pressed
Yes, indeed. This is not a bug, but exactly by intention. It's the same behavior as changing it in the setup menu and leaving the setup menu with "exit" instead of "save and exit" after changing it, to only change it for the current session. The idea behind this is that one might...
