Re: git.artsoft.org web site requires authentication now
…or switch to Fossil ! ;-) no, really: it has everything and more, it's one binary (for windows too), it can be used as web frontend, it has antibot built in (because Fossil and SQLite sites were hit by ai idiots too), and it is way nicer to use than git. it can also maintain git mirror with simple ...

Re: Miho Dash: BD clone written in Scheme
btw, vwad is the format i designed several years ago, and i am often using it in my projects. here are libvwad C library and utilities to create and extract vwad files. game source code is in main vwad. you can extract all vwads and run the game like that.

Re: Miho Dash: BD clone written in Scheme
you may need to visit the front catbox.moe page first sometimes. or it might be simply blocked as "malicious site" (but it isn't, it's just a file upload service). sorry for inconvenience, but the archive is too big to attach it to the post. i just checked, and the download works for me, s...

Re: Patch proposal to fix an old CVE
it is already fixed in the new RnD versions, but still… for old versions, the attacker had to somehow know what files are in the victim's home. the victim should have never made any backups of their important work. of course, both things are possible, but i'd say that the attack is "mostly harm...

Re: Patch proposal to fix an old CVE
yes, i understand that it was a historical artefact; and you're right assuming that i was talking from the today's PoV. i haven't checked if it was already fixed in the current code or not, just read enough of the discussion to notice that it is one of those "vulnerabilities" which is not ...

Re: Miho Dash: BD clone written in Scheme
not yet, sorry. i'm still working on the second tech demo. hope to make it avaliable Really Soon. i was planning to publish it with the announce, but of course i found several nasty bugs. ;-) it is somewhat hard to work on the game, because… i just need to… ahem… playtest one more cave, you know, ju...

Re: Patch proposal to fix an old CVE
the mentioned "CVE" is totally non-issue (as most CVEs, actually). to somehow use it, the attacker should already have at least partial control over your PC — and if the attacker is already there… all bets are off. tl;dr: not a bug. not a vulnerability. just some "security people"...

Re: new time limit mode: "explorer"
This would prevent the need for three (potentially confusing) options, and seems to work reasonable in both cases (with option set to either "on" or "off"). looks good to me. ;-) and maybe add some mark to the cave, which tells the player that they solved the cave, but not in ti...

Miho Dash: BD clone written in Scheme
it seems that it's ok to do small self-promotion here, so why not. ;-) this is cross-post from Arno's BD forum, i hope it's ok. Miho Dash is BD-compatible engine written in Miho Scheme. because i needed something to test my Scheme implementation with, and why not BD? ;-) it features: support for alm...

Re: new time limit mode: "explorer"
(thinking loudly) i guess that if i'll make the patch, Holger will be way more interested — because then he'll have almost nothing to do. now i need to find some time to make that patch. ;-)

Re: Patch proposal to fix an old CVE
i always wondered who is that mysterious "attacker" on my home PC, and how he managed to get there. actually, if i have that "attacker" active, RnD wrong access rights on fresh config dir would be the tiniest of my problems…

Re: new time limit mode: "explorer"
resetting the score is the main difference from "no time limit". the idea came from my playing expirience: i am not a good player, but i love to "compete with myself". usually i prefer to explore the level without paying attention to time limit first, and later try to beat it wit...
