bmp2photomap2
-------------

This is a very rough (and slightly buggy) program, it does what it should
without any hoo-har.

Some quick tips:-

24 bit BMP import only, and 128x128 max size.

AVOID mega-red images with 100% dither, it will crash (but you can continue)

If you import a picture and notice blue blobs at 100% dither, just notch it
down until it's gone (It will go, trust me)

Don't hold down the dither slider, use single clicks.... It bugs out if you do
(I was too lazy to fix this)

Scale down your images (in your art package) using bilinear or smooth, avoid
pixel scaling.

Don't try to fit your image in the restricted size, first scale the width to
128 or 64, then worry about the height last. Always use "aspect ratio" when
scaling

64x32 images don't scroll in the mini-map but generally look poor. Likewise,
128x128 images look great but are hard to tell what they are when scrolling
(like looking through a telescope)

Use 0% dither for cartoons, 100% for photographs.

Copy the pal.pcx to your game's graphic folder, and all the custom PREVIEW data
in the graphicinfo.conf to your own graphicinfo.conf for Photomap support in
your game.

Yes it looks like I prefer Italian women (which is probably true), but blondes
don't convert well, especially light skinned ones...weird hur? Look at the
Sharon Stone images, very grainy even though their source images where as good
as the others.

Enjoy!
